Less Clicking. More Creating. Automating Your Production Studio
This presentation explores how automation can transform live-production and post-production workflows by reducing manual steps and making complex tasks more repeatable. We will share behind the scenes of what is possible with products like Bitfocus Companion and Stream Deck, using examples from TV studios, control rooms, and post-production. Topics include camera control, video switchers, graphics, audio, and remote guest workflows, showing how smarter control helps teams work faster and more consistently.
Leveraging AI for Content Creation
AI is being used today to challenge traditional filmmaking and video production workflows. From scriptwriting assistants and generative visuals to smart editing tools and AI-driven audience insights, we’ll unpack real-world applications and emerging trends that are transforming the creative process. Whether you're a filmmaker, content creator, or digital strategist, this conversation will spark ideas, raise ethical questions, and reveal what’s next at the intersection of human imagination and machine learning.
Building Flexible AV for Today’s Connected Environments
As AV systems evolve, understanding how technologies connect and scale is essential. This session explores modern transport approaches, including AV over IP, twisted pair, and fiber, and how they work together to support today’s workflows. Learn how packet‑based and circuit‑based signal distribution differs, and how each approach influences system design, performance, and operation. Gain insight into emerging trends, including the growing demand for higher data rates, and how AV systems adapt to changing requirements.
Beyond Audio: Off-Label Uses for AV DSP Systems
The presentation will cover some thought-provoking and inventive uses for modern AV DSP Systems such as (but not limited to) Q-Sys. We will discuss how to measure video latency, measure AC power quality, use audio for sonar/proximity measurements, and automate network audio tests. Along the way, we will discuss the details of the audio algorithms and how we can better make use of them.
It’s All About the Experience: Why Great AV Is Emotional, Not Technical
People don’t remember specifications. They remember how the experience made them feel. This presentation explores how audio, lighting, visuals, spatial design, and interactivity combine to create memorable experiences.
AI to Survive and Thrive: Successfully Implement the Right Business Solutions
In today’s fast-paced business world, adaptability and innovation are crucial. Organizations face numerous uncertainties, including a tight labor market. However, those who embrace the right technological solutions gain a competitive edge. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one key to unlocking this advantage. When successfully implemented, AI can revolutionize operations, drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and boost profits. In this dynamic presentation, Theresa Szczurek, former State CIO and three-time tech entrepreneur, shares her extensive experience overseeing technology deployments. Through real-world stories of companies that have identified and implemented the right AI applications, attendees will learn practical approaches to thriving in today’s environment. This session provides actionable insights and strategies to help your organization excel.
Catena, Agentic AI and MXL: A Powerful Combination
Controlling devices using a common, standardized open-source solutions is great. SMPTE recently made the brand new ST 2138 (Catena) suite of five documents available as Public Committee Drafts, with all kinds of associated goodies on their Github repo. This is all available for free, for implementers to try out. What if we could take this all a step further, and use an Agentic AI approach to controlling any device that talks SMPTE ST 2138? Today, this is possible. Among many other cool features you get for implementing 2138, there is the ability to describe what the devices are, and how they can be controlled…in plain English. In fact, you can do this in virtually any language, and receive responses in the language of your choice. This allows AI Agents to do everything that Catena does, like voice control for any 2138-enabled device in your facility, regardless of platform, vendor, or type of device. Imagine the possibilities once you add compatibility with one of the most exciting trends in media exchange in years: MXL, part of the DMF initiative. Chris will discuss why this matters and show how it all works together.
